We are quickly moving up on the departure date of our upcoming Mariupol trip. Kipp Campbell & I met up with Dan DeGarmo in Cincinnati this week. Dan shared with us an exciting approach in sharing the gospel with others called, The Big Picture of the Bible. We now have a powerpoint copy of this material in the Russian language and will be taking it with us to Mariupol.
Hotel arrangements, transportation, and domestic airfare have all been purchased this week. We are good to go on all trip logistics. Thanks again to those of you who have been involved in financial support for our trip. We found out that we will not have internet service inside our hotel room, but will be able to communicate with everyone via internet at an internet cafe located just down the street from the hotel. We’ll keep you posted on how all that works out. I have found a great way to communicate via telephone from the US to Ukraine. I spent about 15 minutes on the phone Wednesday with a Ukrainian travel agency - it cost only $1.88. Not bad. The great rate is through Skype, the internet telephone service.
I traveled throughout this country Feb 4-11, spending time in Tampa at the Florida College Lectures. It was good to see many of you there, and to know that you have been praying for our trip. You are such an encouragement! A true highlight for my going to lectures this year was that I got to bring my dad with me. It was his first trip and he found the lectures really uplifting and enjoyable. After lectures, I travelled with dad back to South Dakota and spent the weekend with my parents in Rapid City.
I appreciate all the prayers of brethren from across our country as we prepare to travel. Thanks again for all you do.
